About us

The mission of the Mushroomania Festival Society is to organize the annual MushrooMania: The Canada West Mushroom Fest in Gibsons, British Columbia, and the surrounding Sunshine Coast region, as well as other mushroom-related events in support of the festival. The goal of the festival is to educate people about the culinary, medicinal and various utilitarian properties of local coastal macrofungi by providing the public with educational events such as speakers, workshops, films and habitat walks, and by providing space for educators, businesses and artisans to disseminate mushroom-related materials and products.
